Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea has agreed a 5-year deal with Manchester United with the club confirmed the completion of the transfer.

As reported in November, David De Gea has long been earmarked as the keeper to take over from Edwin van der Sar and the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper finally had a medical at Old Trafford ahead of sealing a long-awaited move to Manchester United.
De Gea, 20, has long been expected to complete a move to Old Trafford and, following the conclusion of his successful European Under-21 Championship campaign with Spain, he is now due to complete the switch, which will reportedly cost £17.8 million.
Officials were trying to conceal the player’s identity using a bed sheet, but that effort was a bit of a fail.

Ashley Young gave his first interview after putting pen to paper for Manchester United today and was delighted to be joining the Red Devils. The winger spoke of his excitement of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world and his hopes to become part of the history of winning a 20th league title.
When asked what he made of the club from the outside looking in, Young said:
“It’s a fantastic team. You know they always produce great players, always fighting for titles, Champions League cups, FA Cups. Always have that winning mentality, and for myself as a player I’ve always wanted to be the best I can’

Manchester United today officially announced the signing of winger Ashley Young. The former Aston Villa man has bags of pace, is great from set-pieces and in the past four seasons has created 47 assists in the premier league – only second to Cesc Fabregas. Read on to find out more about this exciting player.

19-time English champions, Manchester United, have confirmed the transfer of winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa.
An announcement on the club’s official website reads:
Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Aston Villa for the transfer of Ashley Young.
The player passed a medical in Manchester this week and has agreed a five-year contract.
This has already been a hectic summer transfer window for many clubs but at Old Trafford, there is much more to come following the capture of Phil Jones. Clearly there will be some more changes in personnel, some forced and some by Sir Alex`s choice and it will be fascinating to see just who comes in before the start of the season.
Ashley Young was photographed arriving at Bridgewater Hospital for his medical today before meeting officials from Manchester United. His signing is expected to be announced within the next 48 hours. (haven’t you heard that enough this summer?)

Update: here’s a picture of him leaving his medical.

England might have crashed out of the European U21 Championships and much has been said about the players’ quality as well as Stuart Pearce’s tactical naivity, but the performances of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones should not be played down or forgotten. Both defenders were a level above any other player in an England shirt over the course of their three group matches with Jones impressing in particular against the Ukraine.

Javier Hernandez has carried his excellent league form onto the International stage and has scored 6 goals in 4 matches in the Gold Cup so far. Chicharito scored with a cheeky backheel, which turned out to be the match-winning goal in Mexico’s quarterfinal match against Guatamala. Mexico will now play Hondouras in the semi-finals on June 22nd at 7pm Eastern Time / 11pm GMT.
