United’s never-say-die attitude wins the game

The perenial game of two halves saw Manchester United come from a 2-0 half-time deficit to win their game-in-hand against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road last night.

An inspired half-time substitution by Sir Alex Ferguson saw Ryan Giggs replace an apathetic and ineffective Darron Gibson and the 37 year old Welshman’s intelligence and touch paved the way for a United resurgence. Dimitar Berbatov pulled one back after good play from Nani and Fletcher before Ryan Giggs displayed the finest of first touches to pluck an upfield cross out of the air and play an inch-perfect pass for Javier Hernandez to slot home.

Dimitar Berbatov scored the winner on 88 minutes continuing his fine form and proving the critics wrong who were saying he wasn’t fit to wear the red of United just a year ago.
