Loanees complete fantastic weekend for United
As if going top of the league by thrashing Blackburn Rovers 7-1, while our rivals dropped points wasn’t enough, several red youngsters out on loan found the back of the net, completing a fantastic weekend for Manchester United.
Tom Cleverley scored his first ever premier league goal, while Danny Welbeck made it 4 goals from 3 matches and James Chester scored a late winner for Carlisle.

Mame Biram Diouf
Manchester United 7 – 1 Blackburn Rovers
Mame was not eligible to play against his parent club.
Tom Cleverley
West Ham United 3 – 1 Wigan Athletic
Cleverley played the full 90 minutes and scored his first premier league goal against the Hammers on the weekend.
It was quite a beauty, but unfortunately, it was merely a consolation goal as West Ham ran out 3-1 winners. Tom also won a penalty, which Mario Boselli was unable to convert.
Danny Welbeck
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3 – 2 Sunderland
Danny Welbeck continues to impress and is currently on a hot streak scoring his 4th goal in 3 matches against Wolves.
It was a second headed goal for Danny who seems to be improving and growing in confidence with every match he plays.
Ritchie De Laet, Joshua King & Matty James
Preston North End 0 – 0 Millwall
Ritchie De Laet started and played 86 minutes in Preston’s 0-0 draw with Millwall, but both Matty James and Joshua King were not involved.
James Chester
Carlisle United 3 – 2 Tamworth
James Chester started his 17th league match for Carlisle and scored his 3rd goal for them. Chester powered home a close-range header in injury time to send Carlisle through the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
Danny Drinkwater
QPR 2 – 1 Cardiff City
Danny Drinkwater started the match and played 56 minutes.
Nicky Ajose
Bury 1 – 2 Peterorough
Nicky Ajose started his 12th match for Bury, but wasn’t able to save his side from FA Cup elimination at the hands of Peterbrough.
Cameron Stewart
Middlesbrough 2 – 2 Hull City
Cameron Stewart finally received some playing time for his new loan club Hull after an unsucessful loan spell at Yeovil.
The tricky winger started the match and played 69 minutes before coming off as sub for Jay Simpson.
