Smalling impresses, Bebe scores on full debut

And so it did. Bebe scored on his full debut – culd anybody have written a better script? Bebe was signed on the 12th of August when he was still staying at shelter for homeless youths and 12 weeks later he scores in front of 46,000 people at Old Trafford.

It was a tale of two halves, as the first one was quite dire and disappointing, while the second was an absolute cracker. Wolves equalized, but Park Ji Sung restored the lead, only for Wolves to equalize yet again.

The stage was then set for a certain Javier Hernandez, who had just scored a brace on the weekend and he had an immediate impact. Everytime he had the ball, you could feel something would happen and it was only inevitable that he would score the winning goal. Darron Gibson was the main culprit for Wolves’ second goal, but made up by brilliantly playing Chicharito through on goal to lift the ball above Hennesy and into the net.

Edit: a note on the Chicharito goal. He receives a pass, plays it on and then stumbles. He’s 60 yards out, then races up the pitch in 6 seconds and is still cool as a cucumber to lob the keeper a second later. Wow!
