Chicharito scores Solsjkaer-esque first CL goal

A wonderful strike from Mexican striker Javier Hernandez gave Manchester United all three points in their Champions League group match against Valencia. Hernendez came on as a substitute in the 77th minute and showed his instinctive, clinical finishing to grab the winner for United. Immediately after coming on, Hernandez made an instant impact by hitting the upright after a cross at Nani had floated over the Valencia defence.Nani – United’s only genuine, consistent threat – then picked up a loose ball on the right flank, motored down the touchline, avoiding a challenge from a Valencia player, found Kiko Macheda in space, who squared the ball to Chicharito. whose first touch took the ball past a Valencia defender and then instinctively fired the ball low and hard into the bottom right corner.

United have been lacking this kinda of instinctive, clinical finishing since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retired and if Hernandez turns out to be half as good, we’re going to be alright upfront.
