Further to my earlier post highlighting what Sir Alex might have seen of goalkeeper David De Gea at last night’s game between Valencia and Atletico Madrid, comes a story published by Spanish newspaper AS that Sir Alex was there to scout the player.
The AS site also published a picture of Sir Alex, but unbeknownst to the paper was the fact that the picture shows he was accompanied by goalkeeping coach Eric Steele.
Now why would Sir Alex Ferguson scout a football match with a goalkeeping coach?

@brian Eric is texting Alex Mcleish to check if he’d trade Foster for Kusz. Sir Alex is calling Wayne, if he knows any girls in Valencia!
there’s no way. no way Fergie would be preparing for a match by bringing his GK coach to scout the opposition. No chance. Their clearly there to scout a goalkeeper.

de gea is a great talent. will easily surpass Kuszchak very soon and can be Edwin’s long term replacement. Just seems so much more certain. sharper and agile. At only 19 he’s going to be an absolute beast of a keeper!

De Gea will not surpass Kuszczak, maybe crap flop keeper Foster who is rubbish but not our next number one Tomasz Kuszczak. Fergie was watchìn Valencia and that is a fact, if he was watching a keeper than it will be backup to KK. De Gea is a small inexperience keeper who will not be our first choice so again you people show how little you know. I saw De Gea vs. Barcelona and he was terrified of Messi. KK is a beast of a keeper, not small De Gea. Kuszczak is our next number one.
