Matty James played a full 90 minutes for Preston North End who were on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing by Swansea. Preston trailed the Swans 2-0 at half time through goals by Stephen Dobbie and Darren pratley and decided to bring on Joshua King as a substitute for Chris Brown, but he was unable to help his side’s cause as Preston conceded a further two goals from Nathan Dyer and David Cotterill.
Bristol Rovers 2 – 1 Yeovil Town
Cameron Stewart was in the starting line-up for Yeovil Town in their League 1 match against Bristol Rovers. Jo Kuffour opened the scoring for Bristol shortly before half-time. Stewart came off on 75 minutes and was replaced by Rob Kiernan. Yeovil thought they had managed to secure a draw when Adam Virgo turned in an Andrew Williams corner on 88 minutes, but their slack marking on set-pieces was punished in the last minute of the game when Byron Anthony scored from a Wayne Brown in-swinging corner.
Derby County 1 – 0
Daniel Drinkwater got a full 90 minutes under his belt as Cardiff ran out 1-2 winners over Derby.
Tomasz Cywka equalized for Derby on 25 minutes after Michael Chopra gave Cardiff the lead ten minutes earlier.
Derby got the winner through Chris Burke in the 77th minute.
Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Carlisle United
James Chester played the full 90 minutes as Plymouth Argyle and Carlisle United played out a score draw.
Rory Patterson scoring in injury time to break Carlisle hearts after an Ian Harte (remember him?) header gave them the lead in 68minute.
Blackburn Rovers 1 – 0 Everton
Blackburn began the Premier League campaign with a win over Everton. Niko Kalinic securing the victory in the 13th minute.
Reports from Rovers fans indicate Mame Biram Diouf was a handful for the opposing defenders with his pace, as well as runs and was unfortunate to be let down by his team mates who didn’t find him when he was clean through on goal.

Good article. It would be great if such a compilation is done every weekend instead of having to scoure the net for individual match reports that barely mentions our players unlike this United-centric one.
